Requirements
Education
- The candidate should have B.Sc. in Agriculture or MS in Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Genetics/ Molecular biology from any government approved institute with minimum CGPA 2.50 or 2nd division/ class or equivalent result in all academic examinations
Experience
- At least 2 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)

Experience in relevant field will be given preference (Program implementing successfully for recent three years)Have necessary skills on molecular biology as also in computer program for data recording, processing and analysis

Responsibilities & Context
Assist in the design, execution, and analysis of molecular biology experiments to support breeding programs for rice, maize, vegetables and other crops
Conduct genetic diversity analysis, genetic purity tests, marker-trait association studies, and selecting or developing molecular markers for desirable traits (e.g., yield, disease resistance, stress tolerance)
Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, genotyping, and other molecular techniques
Overseeing the daily operations of the molecular biology laboratory, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to schedules
Maintain inventory of reagents, consumables, and equipment, initiating procurement requests as needed to ensure uninterrupted research activities
Supervise and mentor junior research associates, technicians, and interns, providing technical guidance and performance feedback
Manage new staff training on standard operating procedures (SOPs), equipment operation, and data analysis
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment
Prepare regular progress reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the respective authority
