Additional Requirements
Minimum 10–12 years of relevant experience in Import/Commercial operations within the RMG/Textile sector.
At least 5–8 years in a managerial role (AGM/DGM)
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of LC procedures, customs clearance, and bonded warehouse rules.
Expertise in LC opening, documentation, HS codes, and tariff calculation.
Excellent negotiation skills with international suppliers and logistics partners.
Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, and import tracking software.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Good command of English for international correspondence.
Responsibilities & Context

Job Location: Chattogram, Bangladesh

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end import process, from purchase order confirmation to final clearance and delivery.
Lead and oversee the entire import process including LC opening, amendments, negotiation and settlement.
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Import Policy Order, customs laws, and other relevant regulations.
Handle TT, CAD, and other international payment modes in compliance with Bangladesh Bank regulations.
Supervise HS Code classification, import documentation and tariff calculation.
Monitor customs clearance procedures to avoid delays and coordinate with procurement & production teams.
Negotiate freight charges, shipment schedules, handle insurance matters, and ensure cost control in import activities.
Maintain accurate records of import transactions and prepare periodic reports for management.
Resolve disputes with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders when necessary.
Manage and develop the import team to enhance operational efficiency.
Review and verify commercial documents such as PI, Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/AWB, COO, and Insurance.
Ensure compliance with customs rules, import policy orders, and government regulations.
Oversee proper bonded warehouse management for duty-free raw materials under BGMEA/Customs rules.
Maintain liaison with Customs, C&F agents, shipping lines, freight forwarders, Bond, EPB and port authorities.
Work closely with Merchandising, Production, Procurement, and Accounts teams for smooth operations.
Handle problem-solving in case of shipment delays, documentation issues, or customs disputes.
