Senior Merchandiser

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Merchandiser with in-depth knowledge and hands-on expertise in both knit and woven garments. This role is critical in managing the entire product development and order execution cycle, ensuring on-time delivery, quality assurance, and cost-effective production. The ideal candidate must be proficient in handling international buyers, understanding technical specifications, and coordinating with cross-functional teams including production, sourcing, and quality assurance.

This position demands excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, along with strong leadership capabilities to manage junior team members and vendor relationships efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Sampling

• Coordinate with buyers to understand product requirements, specifications, and seasonal trends.
• Manage sample development from concept to final approval for both knit and woven product lines.
• Provide accurate costings and lead time analysis to buyers.
• Suggest alternate fabrics, trims, and techniques to optimize pricing and quality.

Order Execution & Production Follow-Up

• Monitor the full cycle of order execution from PO receipt to final shipment.
• Prepare and maintain Time and Action (TNA) plans, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Liaise with fabric and trim suppliers to ensure timely sourcing and availability.
• Track production status regularly and resolve any bottlenecks to ensure on-time delivery.

Vendor & Buyer Communication

• Maintain effective and professional communication with international buyers (e.g., USA, EU, UK, Canada).
• Develop and manage strong relationships with suppliers, factories, and internal departments.
• Conduct regular factory visits to follow up on production progress and resolve issues on-site.
• Provide accurate reporting and updates to buyers regarding sampling, production, and shipment.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure products meet quality standards as per buyer requirements.
• Work closely with QA/QC teams to address any technical or quality issues.
• Review test reports, compliance documentation, and buyer manuals.

Team & Process Management

• Supervise and mentor junior merchandisers and assistants.
• Ensure documentation is maintained for costing, approvals, TNA, and order status.
• Continuously improve internal processes for better efficiency and cost management.
