BBA or MBA in Human Resource Management (HRM).
Professional certifications in Diploma in Social Compliance (DSC) from BIM will be an added advantage.
Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in Welfare, Compliance, HR, and Administration.
Strong knowledge of the Bangladesh Labor Act & Rules, international social compliance standards, and Codes of Conduct (CoCs).
Demonstrated proactiveness, ownership, ability to work effectively as a team player, and strong problem-solving skills.
Proficient in documentation and preparation of audit reports, as well as professional presentations.
The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy and proficiency in ICT tools are highly preferred.
Responsibilities & Context
Ensure full compliance with the Bangladesh Labor Act & Rules, Codes of Conduct, and local/global compliance standards, including IMS/ISO and ESG principles.
Oversee welfare management aligned with CSR initiatives, ensuring employee well-being through a healthy, hygienic, safe, and green workplace.
Ensure adequate ventilation, lighting, first aid & medical care with periodic health check-ups, drinking water, toilets, canteens, maternity care & special care for pregnant workers, childcare, educational support for workers’ children, social and recreational facilities, fair-value shops, and housing facilities (where applicable).
Monitor and ensure welfare facilities in alignment with Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) programs, employee counseling & motivation programs, and recognition & reward programs
Ensure the formation and effective functioning of welfare and compliance committees; supervise their activities. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on labor compliance and welfare matters.
Engage in discussions with employer and worker representatives on service conditions, and dispute resolution; Strengthen worker–management dialogue and relationships to maintain a peaceful and cooperative workplace.
Handle grievances and disciplinary actions, ensuring prompt resolution of individual or collective issues, including harassment or abuse.
Develop a culture of training and awareness across the organization. Conduct orientation for new workers and deliver training on workplace ethics, Code of Conduct (CoC), labor laws & rules, employee rights, welfare, health & safety, fire safety, grievance mechanisms, and mental health & stress management.
Maintain and update statutory, social compliance, and welfare documentation, including grievances and disciplinary actions. Track KPIs and ESG performance.
Conduct and support ESG and social compliance audits, assessments, and reporting, including corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to publishing ESG Sustainability Reports in line with GRI standards and promote employer and employee branding.
Advise management on welfare and community development activities aligned with CSR. Uphold values and promote a socially responsible image of Akij Resource.
