Requirements

Education

  • Master of Social Science (MSS)
  • Master’s degree in social science, but preference will be given to candidates with qualifications in Gender/Development Studies/MPH degree (Educational qualifications are flexible for experienced candidates).

Experience

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary: The Technical Coordinator – Gender Equality is responsible for leading the integration of gender perspectives across all activities of the Ending Child Marriage (ECM) Phase-III project. She will design and implement gender-responsive interventions and develop strategies to engage community influencers, accelerating the social diffusion of gender-equitable behaviors and attitudes within project activities. Key responsibilities include mentoring and building the capacity of project staff on gender-related issues, providing supportive supervision to staff, and networking with government and non-government organizations (GO/NGOs) and donors. She will collaborate with program teams in reviewing and preparing monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual narrative reports, and ensure the use of appropriate tools and processes throughout all project stages.

Program Management Support

  • Support in gender-focused project management, including design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Provide support in inclusion analysis with the ability to identify and address barriers faced by marginalized groups.
  • Ensure In-depth knowledge of best practices, approaches, and methodologies related to equity, inclusion, and women’s engagement.
  • Facilitate gender-sensitive workshops and consultations.
  • Familiarity with gender frameworks, such as CEDAW, SDGs, and gender-responsive budgeting.

Capacity building and Program implementation

  • Support to develop SBCC and training materials
  • Ensure capacity building of staff, especially for the Field Coordinator (FC), Field Facilitator (FF), and project stakeholders on roles and responsibilities, planning, and monitoring.
  • Conduct capacity-building training with School teachers to promote access to quality education for girls through creating a friendly environment and sustaining a safe space.
  • Assist in providing training for girls on IGA and coordinate with government and non-government stakeholders to expand access to skill-building and livelihood opportunities for adolescents.
  • Provide training for girls on life skills, leadership, group management, gender, and organized outdoor sports and co-curricular activities (Football, cricket, debate, wall magazine) to build their confidence and resilience.
  • Provide necessary support to field staff to conduct training of local government, law enforcement officials, religious & traditional leaders, marriage registrars, parents, peer educators and child protection surveillance groups (Champion father, Aunties, Influential group, including health service providers) on the causes and consequences of Child Marriage, gender discrimination, gender transformative approach, enforcing laws to prevent and ending child marriage and GBV.
  • Organize and conduct advocacy events (meetings/workshops) with policymakers/ government executives responsible for ending child marriage and Gender Based Violence (GBV).
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure gender-sensitive approaches are incorporated in activities and events.
  • Provide basic technical assistance to partners on gender-responsive governance practices.
  • Maintain close collaboration with the LAMB safeguarding Committee and act as the project's gender focal person.

Communication, Reporting, and Documentation

  • Support the Project Manager in reviewing donor reports to ensure high-quality reports are submitted on time for the ECM-III project.
  • Collect and maintain gender-disaggregated data for monitoring and reporting purposes.
  • Assist in documenting lessons learned and best practices related to gender and social inclusion.
  • Track and report on the progress of gender activities in line with project goals and donor requirements.
  • Assist program development/Grants Management in establishing log frames, for drafting donor project proposals as well as throughout the project implementation.
  • Review and analyze weekly/monthly/quarterly reports with the Project Manager to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation and to enhance quality of reporting relating to project interventions.

Beyond this, Integration of spiritual, emotional & social health

  • Ensure spiritual concepts and holistic approach in communication, service delivery, administration, and resolution of conflicts.
  • Ensure religious values and organizational values of the staff.
  • Comply with WHI and LAMB policies and practices concerning child protection, health and safety, equal opportunity and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Disseminate & practice organizational practices, values, policies, and objectives.

Compensation & Other Benefits

    Around Tk. 43,700 per month gross. Other benefits include provident fund, festival allowance once per year, and critical illness and death benefit.
