Working experience WASH response.
Working in Humanitarian Assistance and Emergency Response Program.
Professional work experience in humanitarian project implementation, monitoring, operation, and reporting.
Expertise in designing and implementing WASH infrastructure aligned with national & international standards.
Experience in surface water based solar-powered water supply systems.
Proven ability to monitor quality, ensure compliance, and manage technical documentation.
Experience in capacity building, mentoring teams, and developing operational guidelines.
Proficient knowledge of standard computer software (AutoCAD, GIS, MS Word, Excel and project management software)
Responsibilities & Context
The Technical Manager – WASH is responsible for providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership to ensure the effective implementation of WASH interventions with the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and accountability. The position plays a critical role in the design, planning, budgeting, and supervision of WASH infrastructure and services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, humanitarian standards, and donor requirements. The Technical Manager will also strengthen coordination with stakeholders, support the capacity development of field teams, and contribute to innovation and learning across the WASH portfolio.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of WASH interventions aligned with national and international standards, ensuring sustainability through SOPs and technical guidance.
Oversee day-to-day implementation of WASH activities, supervise technical staff, and ensure compliance with technical standards and donor requirements.
Develop and apply monitoring tools, ensure effective data collection and analysis, and conduct regular site visits to maintain quality and safety.
Provide technical training, mentoring, and support WASH staff and volunteers, and develop capacity-building materials and guideline.
Incorporate disaster risk reduction and climate resilience into WASH designs, support emergency preparedness and response, and lead rehabilitation efforts.
Coordinate with UN agencies, local authorities, NGOs, and community stakeholders, and represent the organization in technical and coordination forums.
Support procurement with technical inputs, review and approve BoQs/ designs, and contribute to timely reporting and documentation of project progress.
