Academic Qualification

Essential: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in relevant sectors.
Essential Experience Areas: Child rights and protection, child labor, education, vocational/technical training, and livelihood or income-generating activities.

Responsibilities & Context
The Community Mobilizer will support the implementation of field-level project activities, focusing on the identification, assessment, and selection of appropriate rightsholders (RHs) based on community needs. The role involves facilitating income-generating activities (IGAs), providing cash and technical support, and helping RHs access skill development (TVET) and employment opportunities. The officer will conduct awareness sessions on child rights, protection, women’s rights, GBV, health, WASH, and nutrition, while supporting the reintegration of children into formal education and monitoring their school attendance.
The position also involves capacity building, providing life skills, leadership, group management, and financial management training to RHs, mothers, and caregivers. Advocacy, networking, and coordination with schools, employers, government departments, and local institutions will ensure safe and age-appropriate opportunities for children and RHs.
The Community Mobilizer will contribute to reporting, documentation, and financial management, maintaining accurate records, preparing event and progress reports, and supporting budgeting and procurement processes. Upholding safeguarding principles, child protection policies, ethical standards, and ensuring the safety of staff and participants are central to this role.
Project activities implementation - 70%
Selection of appropriate rightsholders (RHs) following the criteria focusing community need assessment
Identify needs of the selected RHs
Ensure compliance of different tools, models and approaches are applied uniquely at field operations.
Providing cash and technical support, and coordination for asset/cash transfer, procurement of different project material following IRB policy.
Support communities to identify income generation opportunities
Facilitate to assess the RHs’ capacity and develop household business planning
Taking initiatives to install IGAs
Provide IGA training for the selected family members
Carry out group-based and community-based awareness sessions on child rights & protection, such as child labour, early marriage other issues related to health, WASH, nutrition and different social issues such as women's rights, GBV, climate issues etc. Also, conducting sessions for the RHs and communities on an emerging issue.
Identify appropriate RH for skills (TVET) development training
Taking initiatives to provide skills (TVET) development training for selected RHs
Support the trained RHs to employ or install own business
Identify the employer and communicate with them to ensure a safe and conducive environment at the works place also motivate them not to engage the child as labour
Arranging motivation sessions with employers, market a association, and relevant stakeholders for education & TVET.
Organize orientation and life skills sessions for reintegrating children and caregivers.
Formation and making functional community-based child protection committee (CBCPC)
Taking initiatives to ensure child rights and protection, preventing child labour and early marriage by CBCPC.
Developing community leaders/champions to stop child labour
Linkages of the guardian with govt. social protection schemes
Reintegrate children into formal education system, withdrawing from hazardous & worst forms of child labour
Regular school visits to support ensuring the acquisition of quality education of the children from RHs families
Regular meeting with schoolteacher/SMC
Observance of different national and international days related to rights and protection like IWD, Child Labour at field level
Regular household visit of the selected RHs to support improving their IGAs and other facilities at the household level
Ensure all documents of the target group
Capacity Building - 10%
Arrange life skill training for targeted RHs
Remain up to date with the learning process.
Arrange skill training for mothers/guardians
Conduct leadership, group management and financial management training RHs
Training follow up, effectiveness assessment, hands-on training at HH level and training refreshers.
Reporting and Documentation - 5%
Prepare short event report on each of the implemented activities
Ensure accurate record keeping and systematic documentation & filing.
Provide information for monthly, interim and final reports.
Collect significant case stories including photographs and videos from field.
Maintain proper process documentation - success stories, education reports, etc.
Ensure the compliance of all manuals and organizational policies for the project team with proper practice and record.
Advocacy, Networking and Communication - 5%
Building network with different duty bearers & rights holders.
Maintain regular communication and collaboration with relevant schools, employers, government departments and local government institutions (LGIs)
Coordinate with industries, employers, and informal sector actors to build partnerships for safe and age-appropriate job alternatives.
Coordinate with community people and other stakeholders as needed
Financial Management - 5%
Support to Project Coordinator in preparing field-level budgets, activity-based budget planning for project interventions.
Maintain proper documentation and verification of expenditures related to training, community engagement, beneficiary support, and job replacement activities.
Others - 5%
Ensure and uphold safeguarding principles, child protection policies, and ethical standards in all interactions with children, families, and project participants.
Protect project operations from harm, abuse, exploitation, fraud, money laundering, and bribery, taking appropriate actions in alignment with safeguarding and ethical standards.
