Responsibilities & Context
A. Summary of Project
RDRS Bangladesh has been implementing RDRS Emergency Response Program (RERP) in Rohingya camps and nearby host communities in Cox’s Bazar district since 2019. The RERP contributes to international efforts to meet the humanitarian and protection needs and increase self-reliance and resilience of the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs) and host communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs), tree plantation, life-skills with livelihoods and leadership development training. RERP also works on capacity building of youth and creates market linkage to improve their living standard. This program also aims at Enhancing Living Standards and Promoting Peaceful Coexistence for the FDMNs as well as the nearby host communities.
B. Summary of Position
Under the overall responsibility and control of the Team Leader (RERP), the Project Officer - Protection and Inclusion will play a vital role in planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising the efficient implementation of diverse project functions of RDRS Bangladesh. This position will focus on ensuring the protection and inclusion of marginalized and vulnerable populations. This position will engage in activities aimed at safeguarding, promoting social inclusion and addressing the diverse needs of communities.
C. Description of Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of this position are as follows:

The position requires spending at least 60% to 70% of working time in the field to ensure effective implementation, monitoring and coordination of project activities.
Promote gender equality, social inclusion and protection principles in all program activities.
Develop and implement action plan addressing protection and inclusion strategies.
Ensure the integration of protection and inclusion principles within the project activities, plans and staff welfare initiatives.
Ensure meaningful participation of women, persons with disabilities and marginalized groups.
Prepare timely reports on implementation, outcomes and challenges.
Write success stories and record what worked well and lessons learned.
Assess and identify risks, vulnerabilities and gaps in existing protection mechanisms through FGD, KII and survey.
Organize workshops and provide training to staff and community groups and related stakeholders on gender, inclusion and safeguarding.
Assist to develop proposals and concept notes related to protection and inclusion activities.
Establish referral pathways for protection cases and support case management processes.
Ensure effective communication and coordination with target stakeholders and relevant government departments to enhance the synergy of efforts in the field.
Collaborating closely with central safeguarding focal points and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and PSEA policies and standards.
Any other responsibilities assigned by supervisor or The Team Leader.
