Assistant Manager - Maintenance (Mechanical)

About the Role

The Assistant Manager – Maintenance will be responsible for managing day-to-day execution of the mechanical maintenance function of the tiles manufacturing plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability, safety and cost-effectiveness to support uninterrupted factory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment across the tiles manufacturing plant.
• Supervise maintenance activities for ball mills, spray dryers, hydraulic presses, kilns, dryers, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings and other auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinate mechanical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, fitters, welders and contractors as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, LOTO, work permits, risk assessments and equipment isolation requirements.
• Monitor equipment reliability, breakdown frequency, maintenance costs, spare parts consumption and preventive maintenance compliance.
• Coordinate with Production, Electrical & Instrumentation, Procurement, Stores and HSE departments to ensure uninterrupted factory operations.
• Maintain maintenance documentation, equipment history, work orders, breakdown reports and performance records.
• Identify opportunities for reliability improvement, cost reduction, energy efficiency and maintenance optimization.
• Report major equipment failures, maintenance progress, technical risks and improvement recommendations to the Maintenance Manager.
