To strengthen our operations in Chattogram, we are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager (Import) who will play a critical role in managing import operations, ensuring compliance, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Import Operations & Compliance

• Manage and oversee the complete import cycle including shipment booking, document collection, customs clearance, and cargo delivery.

• Ensure all import processes comply with Bangladesh Customs regulations, port/airport requirements, and international trade rules.

• Supervise verification of import documents such as Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Import Declaration (Bill of Entry), and related permits/licenses.

• Monitor container de-stuffing, port clearance, warehousing, and timely delivery to customers.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, NVOCCs, C&F agents, port authorities, and customs officials to ensure smooth clearance and cargo movement.

• Maintain effective communication with overseas agents, suppliers, and global offices regarding shipment schedules and document requirements.

• Handle escalations and ensure excellent service delivery in all operational aspects.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, guide, and develop the import operations team in Chattogram.

• Monitor staff performance, set operational KPIs, and ensure accountability.

• Build a culture of discipline, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the department.

Process Improvement & Cost Control

• Review and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for efficient import handling.

• Identify opportunities for reducing operational costs while maintaining service quality.

• Maintain performance dashboards and submit reports to senior management.

Customer Management

• Ensure on-time cargo clearance and delivery while maintaining high service standards.

• Resolve client queries, documentation issues, and customs-related challenges promptly.

• Strengthen long-term relationships with key clients and vendors.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

• 8–10 years of professional experience in freight forwarding / logistics import operations, with at least 3+ years in a managerial position.

• Strong working knowledge of:

  • Import documentation & compliance (Customs rules, HS Codes, and import regulations).

  • Port/airport cargo clearance procedures.

  • Freight rates, vessel schedules, and shipping line operations.

• Proven leadership and people management skills.

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.

• Proficiency in MS Office and logistics/ERP systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla.

• Male candidates only (as per company requirement).

Work Schedule

• Office Days: Saturday to Thursday

• Office Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
