Assistant Director

Assistant Director, AARC (AUW-AMR Center) 

• Assist the Director in executing the strategic vision, grant proposals, and research milestones of the AARC.

• Coordinate ongoing projects involving multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens, bacteriophage isolation, biobank maintenance, and bioinformatics/genomics workflows (such as genome assembly and annotation).

• Teach at least one 3/4-credit course per semester.

• Help draft technical reports, research papers, and grant applications for international funding agencies. 

• Ensure daily compliance with BSL-2 (Biosafety Level 2) safety protocols, equipment calibration, inventory management, and proper storage in phage/bacterial biobanks.

• Manage laboratory consumables, coordinate vendor contracts, and track research grant expenditures.

• Help establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for molecular biology, culturing, and data management. 

• Mentor and train Research Investigators, undergraduate AUW students, and interns on lab protocols, thesis execution, and research grant implementation.

• Help organize training sessions, guest lectures, and symposia related to AMR, one health frameworks, and laboratory techniques. 

• Liaise with partner institutions, local hospitals (e.g., in Chattogram), and external research bodies for clinical sample collection or surveillance initiatives.

• Assist in preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings at regional and global health conferences
